“Christians often feel inadequate and unprepared to make a defense of their faith. As people read apologetics books they often encounter unfamiliar terms, concepts, and names. Commending and Defending Christian Faith introduces the reader to the what, why, and how of apologetics. This apologetics primer gives an orientation to terms and concepts, identifies key thinkers, and addresses fundamental questions equipping the reader with essential background for further study of reasons for faith and answers to objections.
It is a “how to think about Christian apologetics” book. It explores the basic issues believers should consider as they prepare to develop their own specific approach to an apologetic witness.
Christian discipleship training must include preparation for giving a defense of our faith. Persuasive rational, historical, and personal reasons have convinced me that Christianity is true. My passion in preaching and teaching has been to commend and defend the truth of God in the Spirit of Christ. The study of apologetics has forever enriched my life, and I have seen it strengthen the faith of many others.” (pp. 9-10)
