College Press Announces New Leadership

College Press Publishing Company is celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of the company’s existence, having been founded by Don DeWelt in 1959. Along with the company’s anniversary, College Press Publishing is pleased to announce that as of July 1, 2019, Chris DeWelt will be taking the role of President and Publisher of the company.

After serving on the mission field in the country of Chile, Chris worked with his father, Don DeWelt, at College Press until Don went home to be with the Lord in 1991. Since that time, Chris has served with College Press in various capacities, but will now be taking an active part in leading and directing the publishing efforts. In addition to his work with College Press, Chris will continue his long-time teaching ministry at Ozark Christian College where he is the Director of the Intercultural Studies Department. Gregg Murdock, who has also served with College Press for many years, will continue to work with the company in the area of financial management.

College Press is also excited to announce that Dr. Rick Cherok will be joining the leadership team of College Press as Lead Editor. Rick has served as Professor of Church History for many years at Cincinnati Christian University. More recently he has accepted a position as Professor of History with Ozark Christian College, a role in which he will continue. Rick will lead the editorial department and will be working with Associate Editor, Dru Ashwell, as College Press continues its ministry of publishing for the Christian community.

In the initial sixty years of College Press’ history, the company gained wide notoriety and recognition for publishing the Restoration Reprint Library, the complete Millennial Harbinger series, the What the Bible Says series, two full commentaries on the entire Bible, and multiple other resources for Biblical studies, historical understanding, and Christian growth. As College Press moves forward into the future, the company will continue to promote its long-standing mission of making “Every Christian a Bible Student”.
